Kastanje was honoured to be invited to organise a special exhibition for the Ministry of Justice event "Location Manager Day". Our curator, Mariana Dzhulai, selected three artists for this project: Dutch artist Barro Donker, Ukrainian artist Olga Tykonova, and Ukrainian-Belgian artist Olena Rabicheva.
The exhibition brings together artists with unique styles whose works collectively hold strong expressive power and reflect the current situation in Ukraine.
Barro Donker portrays life without embellishment, depicting its many shades of grey with occasional moments of color. For this exhibition he created a collaborative piece with Olga Tykonova whose felted wool softens and enriches his imagery, adding warmth, texture and vitality.
Olena Rabicheva sees the world as a flow of light where all living beings are interconnected and drawn toward brightness. Her works always offer a subtle glimmer of hope essential for enduring difficult circumstances.
