The Summit of the European Association of Ukrainian Women took place on April 15, 2024, at the European Parliament in Brussels and was opened by Vsevolod Chentsov, Head of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union. The event brought together more than 30 active Ukrainian women from different European countries, including directors of non-profit organisations, mayors of Ukrainian cities, community leaders, entrepreneurs and other professionals. Our director, Mariana Dzhulai was invited as a speaker of the cultural panel, where she presented Kastanje, the Dutch Ukrainian cultural center, and shared the experience of promoting Ukrainian culture in the Netherlands.
The participants shared their inspiring experience of work and supporting Ukraine in European countries, spoke about forced displacement, adaptation to new conditions and the creation of initiatives that unite and support Ukrainian communities abroad. The women demonstrated strength of spirit, supported each other and inspired with their personal stories, showing how mutual support and unity help to move forward in the most difficult circumstances.
During the event, new contacts were formed and ideas for future initiatives emerged. Kastanje received significant support and many requests for cooperation. We feel grateful and inspired, and look forward to new joint projects together with incredible Ukrainian women from all over Europe.
